About the project
Control Your Heart is a fixed DekuBaku digital zine delving into Izuku or Katsuki perceived to be experiencing hanahaki disease. This may be any variation of hanahaki. The mods created this zine to raise money for the World Heart Federation.Control Your Heart is more than just another DekuBaku zine. It's a hopeful, healing collection of creators mending Katsuki's broken heart (again—thanks Edgeshot!), while supporting real ones. In choosing an optimistic take on this popular yaoi trope, our story transforms a traditional angsty theme into one of recovery, all while raising funds for the World Heart Federation and their life-saving work. Guidelines
If you are accepted as a contributor, zine pieces must depict Izuku and Katsuki in a romantic relationship (established or getting together), one or both of them perceived to be experiencing hanahaki disease. You may make this any genre (smut, crack, fluff, hurt/comfort), any adaptation of the disease, as long as it fits the general rule of a floral-like disease relating to love or sex. Then, it's up to contributors how this is portrayed! Given the nature of the charity zine, we are asking that pieces do not depict Major Character Death. We are trying give this angsty trope a happy ending.You are welcome to apply for multiple positions, but we cannot guarantee you will be accepted for multiple.There will be a NSFW add-on which follows the same theme. All NSFW pieces must depict top Izuku and bottom Katsuki with no implied switching. We will not allow: loli, shota, underage NSFW, noncon, or bodily fluids. If you are unsure, check with the mods.AI and plagiarism is strictly prohibited and you will be immediately removed off the zine and banned from mods' future projects.We are a pro-ship zine, meaning that we do not tolerate harassment over fictional preferences and do not believe that fiction affects reality. This means you will not be penalised for work you make outside the zine. However, any puritan/anti rhetoric or harassment over fiction, in the zine discord server or elsewhere, will also see you removed off the zine and banned from mods' future projects.Your work must be submitted for feedback at check-in points, which can be found on our schedule page. If you need an extension, you must tell the mods ASAP. Failure to submit on time without an extension may see you removed from the zine.WritersFics in the SFW zine will be between 3k-5k words (with a 500-word leeway). Fics in the NSFW add on will be 4k-6k words. Italic, bold, underlined or otherwise unique lettering should be highlighted.Applications

What is a zine?
A zine is a self-published, small-circulation collection of arts and fan fictions, often in the form of a small book. This zine will be digital, meaning it will be a PDF available to download.What is hananahki disease?
Hanahaki disease is a fictional disease wherein a person with perceived unrequited love towards another person begins to cough up flowers, which may be growing in the lungs. For this project, contributors will have creative freedom as to what hanahaki disease looks like for them. This could include:
- Reverse hanahaki, where the recipient of the perceived unrequited love experiences coughing up flowers.
- Sexual hanahaki, where the sufferer/recipient must penetrate/be penetrated to relieve the hanahaki.
- Adaptations of the disease, such as the flowers growing all over the sufferer's body.
You may be as creative as you like, but we do ask that works do not end with major character death. Happy endings! Healing hearts, not breaking them!Is it free to download the PDF?
This is a for-charity zine, raising money for the World Heart Federation. Therefore, it will cost a set amount to purchase it, which will be determined at a later date. All funds will be sent directly to the WHF. Moderators and contributors will not earn any money from this.Is this NSFW?
The main zine will be SFW, with a NSFW add-on. This is a fixed DKBK zine, meaning NSFW pieces will depict top Izuku and bottom Katsuki.Can minors participate?
Due to the nature of the zine and NSFW add-on, along with worldwide child protection laws, all contributors, mods, and followers of the project must be 18+. Minors following the social media sites will be soft blocked or hard blocked.How can I get involved?
We will be recruiting contributors via guest invites and applications. Guests will be invited from results from our interest check, and may be contacted via Twitter/Bluesky DM or professional email. Following this, you then may apply to participate in the zine through our application form. You will find out the results via email.Home
